Paul’s career in Dental Technology started in 1979 working in a specialist commercial Orthodontic laboratory and was part of the first cohort intake onto the BTEC Dental course. Gaining his BTEC National certificate in 1984. Gaining higher qualifications in three Dental and Maxillofacial specialties. Paul was also among the first cohort in the UK to enrol and graduate in 1995 with the MMU’s Batchelor of Science degree in Dental Technology.

Paul went on to teach as a visiting lecturer on the MMU’s dental technology courses for many years, serving also on the board of examiners.
2007 Co-opted onto GDC registration committee by the then GDC President Hew Mathewson. Throughout this time working with the GDC not only as an individual on the GDC’s registration committee but also in many other meetings with stakeholder groups and representatives as a repetitive of the OTA and the DTA developing and fighting for the professional registration for Dental Technicians.    

He Served as President of DTA and was awarded fellowship.
He Served as Secretary and latterly as Chairman of the OTA and was awarded fellowship.
He received the British Orthodontic Society’s Award for distinguished service in 2014.

He has and continues to Lecture Nationally and internationally including two world Orthodontic congresses.  Paul continues to innovate, publish and contribute to our understanding and practice of dental technology.       

Paul s a great believer in lifelong learning and has recently graduated with his MSc in Professional Practice and will have also gained a level 7 Chartered Management qualification.
