Have you met your CPD requirements?

Have you met your CPD requirements?

If you’re short of CPD hours, please act now to ensure you meet the minimum requirements. Remember, you must have completed at least 10 CPD hours over the last two years, before the end of the CPD year on 31 July.

The DTA recommend that dental technicians need to complete at least 10 hours per cycle year, or 15 hours for CDTs. If for any reason you are unable to complete these recommended hours during a cycle year, you can submit less, or zero; however, you need to complete a minimum of 10 hours of CPD during each period of two consecutive years.

The DTA offer members over 20 hours of free verifiable CPD each year that provides lifelong learning specific to dental technicians’ needs and including core subjects via our flagship publication The Technologist and online . Our editorial team is working diligently to ensure that the CPD meets the GDC’s quality criteria.

CPD is just one element, you also need to reflect on all learning, complete a Personal Development Plan and keep an up-to-date record of the number of hours you’ve completed. The DTA provide you with an online account with your PDP and a log book that automatically updates when you complete CPD and reflection.

It’s all online and easy to access, find out more at www.dta-uk.org. Membership costs just £117 including a wide range of benefits. Discounts available for students and newly qualified professionals.

The DTA represent the best interests of all UK Dental Technologists, with one voice.
