Laboratory Leading 20 announced

FMC has announced its ‘Laboratory Leading 20’ for 2024. Pulled together by the team at FMC, the Laboratory Leading 20 is a list designed to celebrate skill and influence in the UK dental laboratory sector. Amongst a number of regular names within the dental technician sector, there are some familiar names to Dentistry Show audiences – including Lola Welch who spoke at the Birmingham Dentistry Show.

 

New dental laboratory set to open

Amongst a backdrop of closing dental laboratories, Precedent Dental Laboratory is bucking the trend. A former Ellesmere Port town centre bank is being turned into a dental laboratory, with plans having received approval from Cheshire West and Chester Council. The exciting plans include a repair service for patients to access directly. As well as improved access to the building.

 

S4S Dental launches refreshed Smilelign

Phil McCall, from S4S Dental recently announced a new look and feel to the Smilelign clear aligner brand. The dental lab promises to offer premium aligner materials at fast turnaround times – as well as free retention and whitening after treatment. This is the aligner’s first refresh, since launching 11 years ago. Advances include significant investment in 3D printers allowing more accurate and faster printing of the aligners.

 

Corus dental labs expand further with UK acquisitions

A European digital dental lab – Corus – has confirmed its expansion with the acquisition of QLab, Tusk Dental Technologies and Simplee Dental Ceramics. Corus labs now includes more than 75 lab locations across Europe. The move follows its acquisition of Byrnes Dental Laboratory last year. ‘With Byrnes, we entered a new market for us, to further consolidate Corus’s European footprint and leadership serving high-end digital prosthesis and orthodontics to advanced dental clinics in nine European countries,’ Corus CEO, Nicolas Bonnard, said ‘And now with QLAB, Tusk, and Simplee onboard, we are ratifying our trust in the UK market and in Corus making the right movements.’
